Outcome of the 13th International Anti-Corruption Conference

We, more than 1300 people, from 135 countries and from the private, public and non-profit sectors, came together in Athens, Greece from 30 October - 2 November 2008 at the 13th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) under the banner "Global Transparency: fighting corruption for a sustainable Future".

13th International Anti-corruption Conference closes with calls for integrated solutions to fight massive hindrance

Athens, 2 November, 2008 - Seeking to put an end to the misery, alienation and instability that corruption breeds, a global anti-corruption meeting culminated today in Athens, with a call for making corruption a key factor that must be addressed in order to strengthen financial, environmental and natural resources governance.

Fighting corruption for a sustainable future  


Human security, climate change, compromised livelihoods and energy security - these are some of the critical issues of sustainability which will define our common future. To tackle the unprecedented challenges they pose to our global and local socio-ecosystems, fighting corruption must form an integral part of the solutions proposed.
